Jenna is an award-winning screenwriter and director with a focus on genre features and television. In 2021 her science fiction feature WAYWORN won the coveted TrackingB feature screenplay contest in the US. She’s repped at Circle of Confusion in the US, who rep such creatives as Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther) and the Wachowskis (The Matrix).
Jenna has been mentored by Tom Benedek, the writer of the Oscar-winning sci-fi classic COCOON, directed by Ron Howard. She’s also interned with Stephen Corvini, Emmy-winning producer of SAFE HARBOUR, where she wrote coverage and developed a sci-fi series.
She was the writer and director of the retro dystopian series 2121, starring TV legend Gary Sweet, which was funded by Screen Australia’s online fund, and has over 1 million views online. She’s directed numerous short films, which have screened at various festivals, including the sci-fi thriller STREAM, which premiered at the Academy Award-qualifying Flickerfest in 2023.
Jenna has been funded by the ABC’s Fresh Start Fund to develop a dark comedy animation, supported by VicScreen to attend the MIFF 37 South pitch event, and was chosen as part of the VicScreen Originate program.
She’s the writer and director of an upcoming horror feature film, and has written commission screenplays for features and short films. Her feature and pilot scripts have placed in screenwriting contests such as the Austin Film Festival and the Titan Screenplay Awards.
Also a script evaluator, she’s read for the Austin Film Festival, one of the top screenwriting contests in the world, and as a freelance editor on multiple projects in Australia and the US. She was also invited to be part of the Flickerfest selection committee for the 2024 festival.
Jenna studied screenwriting at RMIT where she received the VicScreen award for Most Accomplished Graduating Student.
